galderimi thumbPouri is a small village, with approximately 600 inhabitants, perched on a hillside with dense vegetation of chestnut trees on the northeast side of Pelion. It is located 51 km from Volos and just 6 from Zagora. It has fantastic views of the Aegean and when the atmosphere is clear, one can see the island of Skiathos, Skopelos and Halkidiki too!sphlies thumb

The location is unique because it combines the green of the forest and the blue waters of the Aegean Sea. Ideal place for those who love nature and hiking. There are a lot of paths that connect the village with many other places in Pelion, Makrinitsa, Veneto, etc.

The visitor can enjoy the crystal waters of the Aegean to nearby beaches. The most famous is that of Horefto with wonderful golden sand and cool waters. But there are more isolated, sandy and "virgin" beaches near the village like Ovrios, Elitsa and Analipsi.

The location of the village is full of natural beauty and monuments completely unknown to most people. First attraction is the paved square which is spread amphitheatrically over three levels with magnificent plane trees and the church of St. Demetrius. It’s fairly called the 'balcony of Pelion' because of its spectacular view of the blue sea being in perfect harmony with the green of the mountains.

Many stone bridges in the area are located in the area within the wooded ravines. The most beautiful and famous of these are the "Diakoumi" and "Porou".agthan

Another site worth visiting are the caves in the rocky and imposing coasts between 2 places called "Koulouri" and "Limnionas". In the cavernous shores, is  located the ancient region "Ipnoi", where  a segment of Xerxes   was destroyed in 480 BC.

Finally, many small and picturesque chapels are found in the area such as St. Athanasius, with 17th century frescoes., "Analipsi", "Agioi Pantes" on the beach Elitsa and Agios Ioannis (St. GIANNAKI) on "Castelli", close on the same beach.
